The 36th Annual State Mixed Championship Tournament got under way at Flaherty’s Arden Bowl on April 4th. We kicked off the opening shift of the tournament with the selection of “Ethel and Joe bowler. Shirley Vetvick from Wayzata stepped up to lane 7 and knocked down 8 pins while Eric Ruther from Ackley bowled on lane 8 and had a 7 count. For being good sports, we presented each of the bowlers a box of candy. We also presented participation awards, these will be given out each weekend too. Diana Cacas from Monticello was introduced as the new tournament director for the 2010 tournament that will be held at the Garden Center Lanes in Alexandria. We are proud to say Pearson’s Candy Company has once again donated candy to distribute to all participates for the length of the tournament. We’d like to take this time to Thank Sharon Lang for all her hard work and dedication to the State Mixed tournament, we’re going to miss you.
