
2006 TeamUSA
The top five men and women earned automatic spots on Team USA 2006.
Dan Patterson of West Seneca, N.Y., the U.S. Men's Amateur champion is joined
on the men's side by Fero Williams of Gardena, Calif., Scott Pohl of Eagan,
Minn.,
Martin Bedford of Lockport, N.Y., and Ronnie Sparks Jr. of Wayne, Mich.
Diandra Asbaty of Chicago the U.S. Women's Amateur champion is joined
by Shannon Pluhowsky of Phoenix, Olivia Sandham of Wichita, Kan., Lynda Barnes
of Flower Mound, Texas, and Samantha Linder of Winter Haven, Fla.
The National Selection Committee also selected three men and women from
the
players who made match play to join the team. David Haynes of Las Vegas, Bill
Hoffman
of Columbus, Ohio, Rhino Page of San Diego, Stefanie Nation of Orlando, Fla.,
Shannon O'Keefe of Rochester, N.Y., and Amanda Burgoyne of Newport, Minn.,
were all picked.
Scott Pohl finished 3rd in the 2006 TeamUSA championships averaging
212 for 56 games
in 5 days of competition on various long and short oil patterns. Scott went 23
wins and 9
losses in match play.
Amanda Burgoyne finished 8th in the 2006 TeamUSA championships
averaging 214 for 48
games. Amanda went 16 and 8 in match play.
Congratulations Scott and Amanda on your selection to TeamUSA..
Erik Vermilyea of Maplewood, Minn finished 13th averaging 208 for 56
games and went
19 and 13 in match play.
Renea Greenlee of Clearbrook, Minn also competed in the 2006 TeamUSA
Championships
unfortunately Renea missed the cut, and did not make the top 24 women and match
play
competition.
Although Erik and Renea will not be representing the United States in
international competition
this year. They did an outstanding job representing the State of Minnesota at
national level.
