Delegates to the MN State USBC Annual Meeting held on Saturday, June 26th, approved an increase in the MN State USBC dues to $3.00 with 92% of votes cast in favor of the increase. The increase in dues is effective for the 2021-22 season beginning August 1, 2021.
Dues had remained at $1.00 per year since the merger in 2005 of all three state bowling bodies (MN State WIBC, MN State ABC and the MN State YABA) covering men, women and youth. MN State USBC youth bowlers do not pay state dues per National USBC by-law rules.
The MN State USBC Association has been operating at a deficit for the last two years, using reserves to cover the loss in operating revenues. Membership numbers have continued to decline over many years and were significantly affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2021-22 annual budget proposed to delegates at the annual meeting showed an operating loss of over $30,000 without an increase in dues.
