Adele has been in the business of bowling for all of her life. Her family built Bowlers Inn in Lakefield in 1927. She started working there on October 3, 1947 and she and Darrel were married on October 12, 1947. From 1970-1994 she and Darrel were the proprietors. In 1994 their son, Dwayne, has taken over.
She was a delegate to the Minnesota State Women's meeting for many years and was on the Nominating Committee one year.
She also attended the National Convention 2 years. In 1990 she won the National 600 Tournament (D Division) in Bismarck and received a wine bucket as her trophy. She has received plaques for her 25 years and 35 years of participation at the National level.
Adele organized squad groups from Lakefield and area town to go to State and National Tournaments. She was President of the Southwest Proprietor's Association for one year and also took Junior and High School bowlers to competitions.
At 82 years old, she is still bowling. She said in her younger years her High Average was 165, High Game 267 and she had several 600 Series.
