George (Hots) Anderson
Duluth
1990
Meritorious Service
If there is a true fan to the sport of bowling, Hots Anderson is it. Despite being in his late eighties, Hots is still seen at many of the Duluth area events and almost every night watching his favorite scratch league.
Hots watched and coached for many years, as all three of his sons are avid bowlers. Bill is known throughout Minnesota for his bowling skills while Larry was the State President and Dave is the Minneapolis Secretary / Treasurer. Their dad must have taught the boys to give something back to the sport you are involved in.
Hots was elected to the Duluth Area Hall of Fame as one of the first inductees in 1971. He was also elected as a Life Member that same year.
Besides teaching his sons, Hots was also instrumental in setting up some of Duluth's first and still sanctioned scratch leagues. He is considered by many to be the cornerstone of Duluth bowling.
Hots is also a State Hall of Fame member is two other sports. He was elected to the Softball and Horseshoe Halls of Fame.
