Marie Preston has been a member of the MWBA for 53 years. She has served on the board as a director for eight years, second vice-president seven years and first vice-president 16 years.
She has served as state BVL chairman 16 years, the Jamboree Committee six years and the invocation and memorial committee eight years. She was secretary of the senior tournament committee for eight years. She was secretary of the senior tournament committee for eight years. She was on the V.A.V.S. advisory board for 20 years.
She assisted at the state tournament in St. Cloud in 1954, 1959 and 1989.
She was a delegate nine years to the MWBA convention before becoming a director. She has bowled in over 40 state tournaments. She was president of the St. Cloud WBA for 12 years, vice-president three years and the secretary for eight years.
She has served on the St. Cloud WBA local senior tournament committee eight years, historian 12 years and the St. Cloud 15th anniversary dinner. She served as hostess for the state party at the VA hospital 10 years. She co-chaired a Sponsor Appreciation Night in 1947 and dance in 1962. She helped with projects to raise funds for local teams to attend the WIBC tournament in Minneapolis.
She was inducted into the St. Cloud Hall of Fame in 1967. She was given a life membership in St. Cloud in 1976 and was made a charter member of the St. Cloud 600 Club formed in 1945. Her career high game is 247 high series is 601 and her high average was 176.
