Al has four State Tournament titles with a Team Actual and Handicap in 1988, an Actual All Events in 1994 (with 2159), and a Team All Events in 2002.

He has titles in the St. Paul Association Tournament in Team Event in 1974, Team Actual and Handicap in 1981, Singles Actual and Handicap in 1982 (with an 802), and also All Events that year with a 2160. He was the St. Paul Masters Champion in 1982 and 1989.

In the Minneapolis Association Tournament, he Al has titles in Actual and Handicap Doubles in 1985 and Team titles in 1992 and 1996.

Al has earned eight CBS titles. He has 12 titles in other tournaments including the Cold Spring Kegle, Fargo, Minnehaha Open, and at Garden Center in Alexandria.

Individually, his record includes nine 800 series, 18 perfect games, five 299 games, two 298 games and over 400 series of 700 or better. His highest league average was 233.6 in the 1982-1983 season. Which was a State record until 1995.

He was inducted into the St. Paul Bowling Hall of Fame in 1994 and the CBA Hall of Fame in 1996. He was a member of the St. Paul All City Team seven times and was King of the St. Paul Bowlers four of those years. He was placed on the St. Paul All City Second Team five times.

Al was named to the CBA All Star Team three years and was the CBA Bowler of the Year in 1981-1982. He has won the St. Paul City 'Jerry Noonan' Award in 1992 for an 802 in the City Tournament.

He has four Minnesota Senior Classic titles and was Bowler of the year for 2001-2002.
