Fran, age 76, is married to Evelyn and they have three children. Fran accomplished all his bowling data in Minnesota, but now Fran & Evelyn reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Fran began his tenpin career as a pinboy in 1938, competed in sanctioned leagues for 40 years with a lifetime average of 200, and a high average of 217. In the 1950's & 1960's he was lane manager at the Payne Avenue Rec.
On the local scene in St. Paul, Fran had three 300 games, and a high series of 788. He was a member of the St. Paul All City Team four times and was the St. Paul King in 1957. He captured the St. Paul 700 Club championship in 1956 with a four-game total of 920. He has two city doubles championships (1955 & 1959) and two team titles - Schmidt's Beer in 1959 and with the Grain Belt team in 1966.
Fran participated in 20 to 30 state tournaments before retiring in 1978. He won two state doubles titles in 1949 & 1958 and was a member of the Schmidt's team, which won the title in 1978.
Fran competed in over 25 ABC National Tournaments and was on the Mando Photo team, which won the ABC Team All Events. He also won the National "700" club title in 1955.
