Gertrude has been a member of the MWBA for 43 years and in that time has served as director, vice president, president and secretary. She is past president of the Minneapolis WBA and has served as director and secretary and is presently a life member. She chaired the committee bidding the national tournament in 1964. She organized the Minnesota YABA. She has served as president and secretary of the Minnesota Bowling council. She co-chaired the 1990 Olympic Festival and the YABA national tournament. She has served on the WIBV credentials and Nominating Committee and at present is a member of the National Pioneer Club and 600 Club. She was president of the local YABA association and is currently co-chairman of the BVL tournament. She coached junior bowling, started the state junior tournament and is Minnesota's original junior bowler. She is the recipient of the Dan Norum "TELL'EM SO" presented by the State Bowling Proprietors Association, Minneapolis Spectator Club Award, the Lola Yochum Award from the National Bowling Writers and the Helen Duval Award for dedication to junior bowling. She is a member of the WIBC and the Minneapolis Hall of Fame. As a bowler she has a high game of 266 and a high three game total of 657 and was a member of the Minneapolis local championship team and a second place in the state tournament. She has bowled 51 consecutive years in one league. She has attended 38 WIBC tournaments and conventions and all state tournaments when they are held.
