Since 1950, Jim has been active in many aspects of bowling. He started by setting pins at Park Rec, then became involved in managing Park Rec (1955-1963). While at Park Rec, he started the first junior bowling league. He also managed Midway Industrial Bowl 1957-1959, Sibley Bowl 1963-1966, St Bernard’s Lane 1980-1988 and Lyn Del Lanes 1988-1991. Then, he was proprietor of Falcon Bowl 1991-2003 and Lyn Del Lanes 2003-2007. In 1960, Jim became a certified coach under the guidance of Brunswick Rep, Buddy Bomar. He organized and ran the first Super Senior CBA tournament. In 2004, Jim became involved in re-establishing the Minneapolis 700 Charter and tournament.

St Paul Senior Mixed Doubles title 1995 & 2003; Minneapolis Senior Men’s team title 2010. Since 1993, Jim has won gold/silver medals in the State Senior Olympic games to qualify as a Minnesota State Representative in the National Senior Olympic games.
In 2007, he had the honor of carrying the Minnesota State flag in the celebration of athletes in Louisville, KY and again in 2011 in Houston, TX. In 2009, gold medal in the doubles event in San Francisco, CA.
