Some accomplishments include: One Minnesota State Team championship; All Events champion in the military in 1964-65; Represented Minnesota in U.S. Open in 1970, 1972 and 1974; Peterson Classic Doubles champion with Tom Berken; Peterson Classic Team champion twice; High Average in Baltimore Masters in 1967 and 1968; member of a 10 man squad that won the Hoinke Classic in 1983 and Chippewa Valley Match Game champion.
City accomplishments: Minneapolis All Events champion and Team champion; St Paul Team champion in 1974,1977 and 1979; Singles Actual and Handicap champion in 1974; Doubles Actual and Handicap champion with Charlie Tapp in 1978; St. Paul All-City team 4 times; King of the All City team in 1978-79; 700 Club champion; Minnehaha Doubles champion with Tom Berken.
Jim has also had 3 CBA titles including the very 1st one; Midwest Seniors champion; Heartland Classic champion; Northern Minnesota Match Game champion in 1965; Sunset Lanes Singles champion in Moorhead and Kiel Speil Team champion in Hibbing.
Jim was a Minnesota State Bowling Assn. Director for 2 years; wrote a daily bowling column for 15 years and was a member of the Bowling Writers Association of America; City Association Secretary for 2 years; League secretary for over 10 years; one of the original directors of the CBA and the MSC.
