Joan was a member of the Minnesota WBA for 40+ years. She was a delegate to the MWBA Annual Meeting at least 5 years.

Joan competed in the MWBA Championship Tournament at least 30+ years. She organized teams entering the MWBA Championship Tournaments until 1996. Joan attended MWBA Championship Tournaments even after she was unable to compete due to a car accident.

Joan is believed to have been a Willmar WBA member prior to 1963 since she was a league secretary except for the years she was in the Air Force with her husband. Joan served as Willmar secretary from 1963-68 and league secretary from 1963-1996. Joan's high game was 210, high three-game series 584 and high season average 154. Joan worked on getting entries for the Eagles Bowling Tournaments. She always had bowling and bowlers as part of her life.

Joan passed away in December 1996.
