The name Joe Page is a familiar name in the game of bowling in the State of Minnesota and his hometown of Winona.
Joe is a charter member (like nine others) inducted in the first Minnesota State Bowling Association Hall of Fame ceremony.
He was instrumental in organizing the State Association, along with contributing an enormous amount of time and effort to bowling on the local level as well as the State and National levels.
Joe traveled numerous miles to attend meetings and seldom missed any. He and the other nine elected members to the State Hall of Fame are very deserving and have contributed much to keep the organization going and making it one of the nations finest.
Joe Page was known as Winona's Mr. Bowling. He served on the local board for 40 plus years and was that board's president for over 25 years. He organized the WBA 700 Club in 1948 and that club is still active today. He also threw a 300 game in tournament competition in La Crosse, Wisconsin and teamed up with Ralph Palubicki to win the State Doubles title. He was an avid bowler and loved to bowl tournaments. Anytime someone wanted to talk bowling, Joe was there to listen.
Joe won several league awards for high games, high series, team championships, and association events throughout over fifty years of bowling.
He has won or placed highly in many tournaments in his career and has rolled five 700 plus series during an era when they were considered exceptional.
Mr. Joe Page will be a great addition to the Minnesota State Hall of Fame inaugural induction and is well deserving of the honor.
