Leona has been a member of the Minnesota WBA for 57+ years. She served as Director on the Minnesota WBA Board of Directors from 1960-1969. Leona was a delegate to Minnesota WBA Annual Meeting for 12 years from 1955-1967 and as an alternate from 1987-1992. She competed in many Minnesota WBA Championship Tournaments and was a member of the team that won the 1968 Class A Team Event title.

Leona has been a member of the Winona WBA since 1945, a total of 57 years. Leona has held the following Winona WBA offices: *President 1953-1963 and again 1980-1986 and *Vice President 1979-1980. She served as chairperson or member of the following committees: *Banquet 1955-1956 *Nominating 1949-1950 and 1989-1990 *Scorekeepers 1987-1988 *50th Anniversary Tickets 1988-1990. She served as President of the Winona WBA 600 Club for eight years and Board Member of the AJBC in 1965-1966. While participating in four bowling leagues, Leona maintained an average of 154 in the last few years. She has contributed additional valued service to the game of bowling as a *Certified Bowling Instructor, teaching women to bowl and also taught and coached Junior bowling and organized Junior bowling leagues for many years. Leona has the following special Honors and Citations *The Winona WBA All-Events Handicap Champion and Singles Champion in 1958 *Received the Winona WBA plaque for service in 1993 and *a Volunteer for DAC Tournament in 1983. Leona retired as manager of the Westgate Bowl after being manager from 1963-1978. Her career Hi-Game was 256 *Career Hi-Three Game Series was 649 and *Career Hi-Season Average was 162 in 1976-1977. Leona was inducted into the Winona WBA Hall of Fame in 1982.

Leona was a WIBC Delegate for one year and competed in the WIBC Championship Tournament for four years.
