LeRoy started bowling in 1956. He was a member of the Hamm's Beer team, which won the 1970 and 1972 ABC Team Titles. His other tournament accomplishments were capturing the 1961 Minnesota Match Game Doubles, 1972 Minneapolis Tribune Classic, and 1981 Central Bowlers Alliance titles.

In 1980 he was inducted into the Minneapolis District Bowling Association Hall of Fame in the Superior Performance category.
