Maynard age 67, and his wife Harriet have four daughters (one deceased). They have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Maynard was a director of the Minnesota State Bowling Association for over 20 years. He served as the State Association President in the 1990-91 season.

In his 46 years competing in sanctioned competition, he has bowled the state tournament 38 years. He has bowled the ABC Nationals for 16 years.

He has been responsible for organizing squads of anywhere between eight and thirty-four teams for the Minnesota State tournament over the past 18 years.

At the local level, Maynard served as the City Association President for 20 years. He has been a league president for nine years and a league secretary for ten years.

His accomplishments on the lanes include the State Mixed Doubles Championship in 1994, the Concordia DaPolka Capital Tournament Championship, and he has been a member of the city team championships six times. He has one 700 sanctioned series.
