Norm has been bowling for over 45 years in sanctioned leagues. While considered a good bowler with a 279 high game and 724 high series, Norm is known for his promotion of the game. He was and still is either the Secretary-Treasurer or president of every league he bowls in. Norm was elected to the Minneapolis Board of Directors 33 years ago and served as Minneapolis President in 1973.

Norm became a Minnesota State Director in 1973 and eventually chaired many committees and finally served as Minnesota State President. He started the Minnesota State Seniors Tournament 9 years ago and is well known for all his effort with senior programs
