Pat started his bowling involvement in 1959, competing in the AJBC program in Minneapolis. In 1963, he started learning the bowling business as a pin chaser. His career included managing the Bowlers Journal Tournament for 34 years (1969-2003). Pat had the first independent pro shop at the ABC Tournament (1974), responsible for instigating the popularity of pro shops now seen at every national event.
Pat started The Metro Bowler in 1975, a bowling newspaper helping the bowlers of the metro and state of Minnesota to stay current with the local, state, national and international events. The Metro Bowler celebrated its 30th Anniversary season in 2004-2005.
He co-anchored a radio talk show (Sports Night on WCCO radio) in the late 1980's hosted by John Gordon, talking about events in our area and the state.
Pat is a member of the Bowling Writers Association of America (BWAA) for the past 30 years. He was inducted into the following Hall of Fame's: 1968 National Collegiate Bowling Hall of Fame (Superior Performance), 1994 Minneapolis ABC Hall of Fame (Meritorious Service) and in 1994 CBA Hall of Fame (Meritorious Service).
