Peggy Torrison was a star in Minnesota in the '40s and '50s. She was one of the first few women to average over 180. Peggy's team won a City Team Championship in 1947. She had a week when she bowled 683 and 656 in one week. Scores that were 3rd and 8th in the nation in 1947. She was the City All Events Champion in 1948, 1949 & 1952. City Doubles Champion in 1952 and 1955.
Peg was a State All Events Champion in 1952 with an 1830 score. In 1948 she won the District title in the WIBC National Sweepstakes. She was second in the nation. In 1947 she rolled an 802 4-game series in the WIBC Individual Sweepstakes. Peg represented Minnesota at the All Star Tournament in Chicago. Peg was hired by the bowling proprietors to teach bowling. She traversed the city giving individual instructions at many lanes.
Some of the good bowlers of today, both men and women, credit Peg for their success on the lanes. Peg is a member of the Minneapolis WBA Hall of Fame Memorial Honor Roll.
