Ray is 75 years old, and is married to Betty. They have four children.

Ray has been bowling since he was 14 years old and all together has bowled in sanctioned league competition for 58 years, missing only three years when he was serving in the Navy during World War II.

In 1975, Ray was elected to the Board of Directors of the Winona Bowling Association. He is a past president, and a member of the Hall of Fame in Winona, being inducted in 1985.

On the state level, Ray became a director of the State Association in 1982, and will be President of the association, taking office on October 1, 1997.

No matter what committee he has served on, he gave 100% of his input to everyone. He has served on the Jamboree, Tournament Promotion, Legislative, Audit & Finance committees as well as others.

Ray has a 288 high game and a high series of 698. He has participated in 50 State Tournaments and two years in the ABC National Championships.
