Ron started bowling at the age of 12 and was encouraged to bowl by his brother and his father. You could usually find Ron at Camden Lanes. Ron surrounded himself with great team players and competed on some great teams: Grain Belt Beer, Brown Clothing, Thunder bird Motel, Cyrano's, Seven Up, Budweiser, Schlitz and Bungalow Inn to list a few.

In 1963 he bowled doubles with Bud Johnson to win the Minneapolis City Tournament Doubles Crown. He was a part of the Grain Belt Beer team that won the Minnesota State Team Event in Mankato in 1969. Ron won the Singles Event title that year with a 751. His last game was a 299 and this tournament was his most memorable bowling event.

In 1976 he returned to the winner's circle with Cyrano's to win the Minneapolis City Tournament Team title. That year Cyrano's finished 3rd in the American Bowling Congress National Tournament in Oklahoma City with a 3,164 series. His high game is 300 (7), high series 814 and high average of 220.

Ron was inducted into the Minneapolis Hall of Fame in 1984.
