Ruth has always been involved with bowling. She started out just as a bowler but then found where her knowledge, expertise and general love of people could be used in so many other areas in the bowling community.

She has attended 21 Minnesota State conventions as a delegate serving many times on the Credential Committee and two years on the Nominating Committee for the Minnesota Women's Bowling Association. She also served as chairperson for three years on the Nominating Committee for the MNUSBC. She was a delegate to the National Convention for 5 years.

Ruth was President of the Hutchinson Women's Bowling Association for 5 years and served as Association Secretary for 9 years. Currently she is the Hutchinson Association Manager which merged in 2006. Prior to that, she served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Transition Committee.

She has organized trips to State and National Tournaments, done BVL fund-raiser tournaments/foodstands. In the past she has also been a youth Coach and Hutch YABA Secretary for 7 years. Because of Ruth, many young people serve on the local Board of Directors and it becomes a learning process for them with Ruth being the teacher.
