Sam has one ABC Tournament title - 2002 Team All Events. He was a member of Team USA in 1993 & 2003. In 1993 he won 2 gold medals and in 2003 he won 5 gold and 1 silver medal.

He has six State Tournament titles: 1990 Actual & Handicap Team, 1994 & 2001 Actual Team & 1997 Actual All Events. He has eight titles in the St. Paul Association Tournament: Actual Team in 1990, 1991, 1995, 1997, & 2000; Handicap Team 1995, 1997, & 2000. He has four Minneapolis Association Tournaments titles: 1986 Doubles, 1992 Singles, 1995 All Events, & 1999 Team. He also has won the following tournaments: 18 CBA titles, 1984 Minnehaha Team, 1987 Fargo Doubles, 1987 Minneapolis Masters, 1987 & 2002 Minnesota State Amateur, 1995 & 2002 St. Paul Team Challenge, 1998 & 2001 Masters triple Crown & 2003 St. Cloud Kegle.

Individually, his record includes eleven 800 series, thirty-three perfect games.
