Shirley has been a member of the Minnesota WBA for 40+ years.

She has served on the following MWBA Committee as Chairman for 2 years to oversee the Credentials for Officers and Directors of the State Board. Shirley checked in delegates at the MWBA State Convention when it was held in Rochester. She also worked during the MWBA State Championship Tournaments, when it was held in Mankato and New Ulm, to get subs and also to get monitors. Shirley has been a delegate to the MWBA State Convention for 29 years. She has competed in at least 35 MWBA State Championship Tournaments. She also has competed in several MWBA State 600 Tournaments.

Shirley has held membership in St. Peter and Mankato WBA Associations a total of 40+ years. She has held the following Association office3s: President, 16 years; Association Secretary/Treasurer, 8 years; also league offices held: Siouxettes League Secretary, 18 years; Bowlerettes League Secretary, 8 years; Adam & Eve Mixed League Secretary, 22 years; and SCMBPA Traveling League Secretary, 5 years. She served as Chairman to start the 600 Tournament in St. Peter 2 years. Shirley worked with the American Legion District Tournament as a marker for over 6 years when held in the area. Shirley was Chairman of the organization of the St. Peter WBA in 1965. She was a member of a team that was League Champions for a period of 18 years. Shirley's career high game, 269 in 1990-91; career high series, 639 in 1990-91; career high average, 178 in 1987-88 season, and, 3 year high in house average of 176 for 1983 thru 1987.

Shirley bowled in the WIBC Championship Tournament the year it was held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
