She and Georgene Cordes were WIBC Doubles Champions in 1976. She won the National 600 Club Tournament in 1973 and the National 700 Club tournament in 1970. Shirley ranked in the WIBC top ten (composite list) category 1975-76 – 200 average 1974-75 – 199 average. She was second in the Queens in 1976 – when she averaged 193 in the match play rounds. She represented Minnesota in the World Invitational tournament three times. She won Minnesota Match Game Tournament twice which earned her a spot in the U.S. Open. She won various other tournaments such as Elsie's Lucky 13; The St. Cloud Kegle and the Tribune Classic twice. Shirley is a member of the Minneapolis WBA Hall of Fame for Superior Performance.
