Steve started bowling in the AJBC Junior Traveling league in the 1961-62 season. In the 1964-65 season, he joined the adult straightaway league competition at age 16. From 1967-1972 he competed in the European Military Traveling League. While stationed in Germany in the U.S. Air Force in 1971, he was part of the team that established the European Military 5-man team record score of 3,305. Steve was high on the team with 716, his first 700.Tournament Championships:

Local Titles: Minneapolis 1975 – All events, Doubles & Team; 1978 Actual Team and Team All Events; 1983 Actual Team Title. St Paul 1983 Actual Team and Team All Events Title.

Central Minnesota Bowlers Association title in 1980, St Paul Senior Master’s title in 2000; Midwest Senior Classic title in 2000 Eau Claire, WI.

Other Honors: Minneapolis BPA Traveling League and Home Divisions Championships in 75-76 and 76-77. In 2000, Steve was selected for MSC 2nd team honors and 2001 MSC 1st team honors. Inducted into Minneapolis Hall of Fame in 1999.
