Thomas has attended 21 National Conventions, 6 association leadership workshops in Milwaukee and State delegate for the past 13 years. Has served the Minneapolis Bowling Association since 1987 (Director for 29 years; Vice President for 10 years and 3 years as President of the ABC/USBC. Volunteered as a YABA coach for 34 years in the Minneapolis District. He has been the YABA Committee Chairperson for 15 years and has served on the Minnesota level as the State YABA director. Tom was youth league coordinator at Hopkins Bowl for 5 years. He has been a league officer (President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer since 1972.) Over the past 29 years as a director, he has been the chairperson of several committees including audit, budget, youth, rules and legislative. As chairperson of the senior committee, he was the tournament director for 12 years. He has served on several other committees including City Open, Masters, Senior Masters, fund raising, Hall of Fame, membership, training, BVL, suspension, lane certification, audit, all tournaments, banquets, mixed couples, scholarships and technology. Auditor for three years at the Special Olympics. Past chair of Women’s State Merchandise Committee in 2013.

He was inducted in the Minneapolis Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service in 2002; Director of the Year 2010-2011.
