Tom and his wife Gerda, had two children. Tom was a salesman for Vulcan Pins. Tom bowled in sanctioned competition for 26 years.
What Tom is known for is his hard work behind the scenes. He was the Secretary of the Minnesota Bowling Proprietors Association for 26 years. He was instrumental in bringing the All Star Tournament to Minneapolis in 1958, the first time it was out of the Chicago area.
Tom started the Minnesota Bowling Council in 1952, one of the first in the nation and it's still going strong.
Tom was a Director for one year with the Minneapolis District Bowling Association.
On a national level, Tom was Vice President of the BPAA for three years. He was co-chair of the Equipment Committee for one year and chairman of the Legislative Committee for one year.
Tom is a member of the Minneapolis Bowling Hall of Fame.
