Bill, age 76, and his wife Mard, have one daughter, Jennifer.
Bill began his bowling career in 1957, managing Lyn-Dell Lanes. In 1958, Bill and Walt Gustafon purchased Biltmore Lanes. In 1959 he purchased Bryant-Lake Lanes and was the proprietor of these lanes until 1993. At these lanes he conducted the MPI Tribune Classic Tournament for 15 years. Bill has also been on the Minneapolis Bowling Hall of Fame screening committee for 20 years, and was inducted in this Hall of Fame in 1972.
Bill's bowling success on the lanes is outstanding in the Minneapolis Bowling Association. He was a member of nine team championships, and was an all events champion. He has 45 years on sanctioned league competition, has one 300 game and over 30 700 series. He carried a 200 average for at least 10 years, and is still bowling.
On the state level Bill has bowled in 43 state tournaments and 45 consecutive ABC tournaments, having a combined 187 average for these 45 years. He has been a member of five team championships in the State Tournament, twice with the Grain Belt team, and three times with Pabst Blue Ribbon.
