He is a lifetime member of the Rochester Bowling Association. Bud was the proprietor / owner of Colonial Lanes at one time.
He was instrumental in starting girl's state bowling. He started a junior bowling program that was an example for others to follow. He provided transportation and the bowling fee to the State Tournament for all the junior boys and girls at no cost to them.
Many people who have worked for Bud or have participated in the junior bowling program at Colonial Lanes, some of which some later became coaches themselves, stated the joy they had developed for the sport and the fun they had knowing a fine a man as Bud.
Bud is also a charter member of the Minnesota State Bowling Hall of Fame and is the founder of the Eagles-Budweiser Cancer Tournament. Proceeds from this tournament were donated to the Mayo Clinic to further cancer research.
